Conductive foil, non-conductive adhesive
The exposed copper foil conducts electricity. The adhesive is not intended to provide electrical continuity to the surface underneath or across adhesive-backed overlaps. Do not treat this product as electrical insulation.
If your design depends on electrical contact through the adhesive, choose our separate copper foil tape with conductive adhesive.
Applications
- Decorative accents and copper borders on compatible surfaces
- Craft projects that do not need current to pass through the adhesive
- Foil layouts with separately designed and verified electrical connections
For EMI shielding, account for foil continuity, seams and grounding in the assembly design. Do not rely on this adhesive to electrically join overlapping strips. Test the completed assembly against your requirements.
Choose a width
Narrow rolls suit small details and tight spaces. Wider rolls cover larger areas with fewer seams. Select a width for the current price. Each roll is $1 less than the corresponding conductive-adhesive roll in the store's base USD pricing.
Application guidance
Apply to a clean, dry, compatible surface using even pressure. Test adhesion on a sample of the actual substrate before full application. Confirm the exact tape's compatibility before soldering or exposing it to process heat.
Technical data and custom requirements
For thickness, adhesive chemistry, temperature limits, adhesion data or a specified electrical application, contact APT for the exact non-conductive product. Specifications for the conductive-adhesive version should not be assumed to apply to this tape.
Frequently asked questions
Is the copper itself non-conductive?
No. The copper foil conducts electricity; non-conductive describes the adhesive.
Will overlapping strips make an electrical connection?
Do not rely on an adhesive-backed overlap for continuity. Where electrical contact is required, provide a suitable separate connection and verify it.
Is this the same as conductive-adhesive copper tape?
No. This is a separate product with non-conductive adhesive. Choose the conductive-adhesive product when your design needs that electrical path.
