APT Polyester Powder Coating Tape is a polyester film tape with silicone adhesive for high-temperature powder coating masking. This industrial polyester tape combines a 2 mil film backing with a 3.5 mil total thickness and is designed for good adhesion and clean removal after suitable coating cycles.

Applications
Powder coating masking: Use polyester masking tape to protect areas that must remain uncoated. Select the width for the masking area and evaluate adhesion, edge definition and removal through your actual heating and cooling cycle.
Tape and film splicing: Polyester tape with silicone adhesive may also be evaluated for joining compatible materials. Confirm adhesion and process requirements for the specific paper, film or other surface before use.
Choosing a size
Narrow rolls suit smaller masking areas; wider rolls cover larger surfaces. Choose a width that covers the protected area without interfering with adjacent coating edges. This product is intended for powder coating masking and can be evaluated for compatible tape and film splicing applications. Polyester tapes with other adhesives or constructions may serve different purposes.
What temperature can this polyester tape withstand?
The listed operating range for this roll tape is -73°C to 200°C. Confirm the allowed time at temperature and removal conditions for your process. Test on the actual surface before production; do not assume the separate die-cut product has the same rating.
What is the difference between backing and total thickness?
The 2 mil backing refers to the polyester film alone. The 3.5 mil total thickness includes the backing and adhesive. Use total thickness when checking the installed tape's clearance or masking step.
Should I choose roll tape or masking dots?
Roll tape suits continuous edges and shapes cut to length. Pre-cut polyester masks suit repeated circular areas. Check each product's specifications separately.
